Andrew Hughes, ANHH Consulting: A perspective on how technology can drive better decisions, better experience, and better outcomes

Andrew will speak from the unique perspective of a client, providing us with critical insights into how buildings can be designed with smart thinking embedded at their core. He will delve into the evolving needs of society and how engineering must adapt to meet these changes. With his extensive background in consulting, Andrew understands the nuances of integrating hidden technical infrastructures that support more effective and efficient operational delivery.

He will share his vision on how the built environment can evolve to better serve our communities, enhance productivity, and create sustainable, intelligent spaces that anticipate future demands.

Tim Miscovich, wtec: Demystifying the smart building - real projects, real results

Smart buildings represent a dynamic concept open to interpretation. This presentation will delve into the successful deployment of low voltage lighting as the foundational infrastructure for smart buildings across three iconic addresses in New York City: 420 5th Ave, 3 Times Square, and One Vanderbilt. We will explore various use cases such as Building Management System (BMS) integration, space analytics, Audio-Visual (AV) enhancements, and Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) improvements. Additionally, we will discuss best practices for planning and design, along with key tips for ensuring successful installations.

Simone Vieira, CommScope: Smart Buildings: AI & Insights into new technologies in the workplace

What EXACTLY, makes a building ‘’SMART’’? At the highest level, a Smart Building links devices, applications, and people to deliver two key value propositions: enabling new experiences and improving operational efficiency.
A Smart Building starts with ubiquitous, reliable wired and wireless connectivity, indoors and out. However, while that kind of connectivity may once have been a goal in itself for many buildings, it’s just the beginning.

When all of the people, devices and applications share a common technology infrastructure, they can interact with each other to enable experiences and efficiencies that weren’t possible before.

This and much more will be explored during this session.

George Pritchard, Scenariio: Smart Lighting, Smarter Spaces: Illuminating the Path to Workplace Efficiency through Sensor Integration

George will delve into how smart lighting is a lot more than just controls. Learn how lighting control sensors can become a key player in enhancing workplace experiences. George will discuss how strategic planning from the outset can lead to better outcomes and greater intelligence for your buildings, illustrating the power of sensor-integrated smart lighting systems.
